Always on the lookout for a better way ...
I'm trying out a new way to edit my blog: Windows Live Writer (beta). I'm hoping some of the tools will be useful. Not that I'm not a fan of Blogger, but we'll see if this is a more powerful editor than the one built into Blogger.
For what it's worth, I think Mac vs. PC is the under-card--the real prize fight is going to be Google vs. Microsoft. A little competition can be a good thing, especially if it keeps giving us great products like MS OneNote and the latest version of Google Earth.
Alright, one thing I don't like already: when I blog, I like to link. Using WLW means that I have to go to my taskbar to switch over to FireFox. I'm very much used to writing in one tab and doing my searches for links in another tab.
Yes, I use FireFox and I am totally addicted to CTR+T. You should too:
And, thanks to Live Slick for their recommendation. I love free software!

So a couple of things. One is that you may want to try maps.live.com and look at the new images they just released. Be sure and try out the Bird's Eye views. I'm not sure how the coverage is for New Zealand but if you want images from back in the US (the new Epping middle school under construction for example :-) ) there is a lot there or very high quality.
Also I use Alt-Tab to move between windows rather than going to the task bar. I find it quicker. If you were using Internet Explorer installing Windows Live Writer also installs a "Blog it" icon on the menu bar so that you can pop open WLW with a link to the page you are reading already there.
You may already know this but Ctrl-k is a shortcut in WLW to open up the box to paste in a link for what ever text you have highlighted.
One thing I'm seeing that's either missing or not obvious--there's no way to see, edit, or add comments through WLW!
Thanks for the tips. I'm not up on my keyboard shortcuts; I find that I use a few, but not many. Despite David Allen's recommendation I just haven't got into the hang of learning them and using them. I think I like FireFox and its tabs so much because it (like the rest of my Internet) appeals to my ADD-like way of working at times, and that's why CTR+T is my friend.
I found that when I used the IE and had the Blog This button, I never really used it. There are a couple of FireFox addons that install a 'blog this' feature, but I haven't bothered to (re)install.
But I am installing Live Earth right now. ;)
