Some more random pictures
Evan and I went for a little drive today. He wanted to go through the Lyttleton Harbor Tunnel and I wanted to get some pictures of the Waimakiriri River. Our mission was accomplished, so here are the pics.

My wife found your blog today and we've enjoyed reading your comments. We moved to Christchurch from Indiana in mid-July, so we've probably been here about the same length of time as you. Cheers! Larry & Raina
Also, it doesn't sound like you've been to Akaroa, unless you went and haven't blogged about it yet. You should definitely plan to go on a nice day. It's a lovely drive in, much like the Port Hills Summit Rd. trip overlooking Lyttleton.
There are lots of nice little shops and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and water. There's also a nice little playground right next to a terrific cafe called Ma Maison, which we highly recommend. :) Our baby precludes us from taking too many trips at present, but this was one of our excursions that we really enjoyed. Thanks for the tip Larry! We haven't been to Akaroa, yet. We're saving it for some warmer weather--probably the French Festival in September. We'll definitely check out that cafe; it's nice to enjoy a cup of coffee while the kids run around. (The botanical gardens is a great spot for that, since the cafe there is right near the playground.)
